So, I've been seeing alot of rants out there about religion, sexuality, and insults.Well, these are my feeling on these topics:
1. Religion -
This is probably the most controversial topic anyone could ever think of talking/writing/ranting about. Because we all know that some loser out there is going to get offended by whatever you say, no matter how you word anything. But I'm going to ignore that and just go on with what I have to say.
I honestly don't care what religion/belief system/spirituality you follow, so long as you don't shove it down my throat, talk about it 14/7, and/or let it rule your day to day activities. Because there is nothing I hate more than hanging out with someone only to be told I'm going to rot in hell for my beliefs, that I have to do xxxx to save my soul, or that I'm just worthless for not converting to whatever religion said person happens to be. I won't lie, though. I do tend to bash the Catholics on a semi-regular basis. But I have good reason to do so. Going to a Catholic school for nine years, and listening to crap I was forced to listen to at church tainted my idea of most Catholic people out there. But don't take that the wrong way. I don't automatically hate people for being Catholics. I only hate them if they try to 'convert' me, or hate me for being Pagan. Alot of people I know are/were Catholic, and I like them well enough.
So, now that my feelings on all that are out there, comment away. If I offended anyone, sorry. If I wasn't clear about something, I'll try to clarify. If you want me to say more, just ask.
2. Sexuality -
Again, I honestly don't care what sexuality you are. And I don't think that really needs to matter in any sintuation. If a person prefers one gender over the other, good for them. Who is anyone to tell them otherwise? If a person is content to be with one gender in one relationship, and the opposite in the next, good for them. Who is anyone to tell them otherwise? People can't help being attracted to whoever they're attracted to. Homosexuality, like Heterosexuality, is not a choice. Its not a mental disorder. Its just the way it is. I have friends who are gay, bi, les, straight, and my dad is trans. So I really don't care who you want to fuck, so long as you don't involve me in it. Because I don't really want to hear who you're having sex with, let alone the details. Then again, I also don't care if you do feel compelled to share such information with me. As for morals, I don't really think love and morals are compatable. I mean, how can you go around saying its immoral to love xxxx, but its perfectly okay to love yyyy, based solely on gender? I mean, yeah, in some religions its 'wrong'. But, as I said in the first part of my rant, I don't want to hear it. I don't let any of my beleifs get in the way of how I feel about a person, and I'm not about to listen to anyone else's (That is to say, I don't expect anyone to listen to mine, either).
Thats really all I have to say on that. Comment away. If I offended anyone, again, sorry. If I was unclear, again, ask and I will clarify. If you want more out of me, again, ask and I'll give you what I can.
3. Insults -
This, honestly, has to be one of the most immature topics out there.
So what if someone calls you a name, makes fun of you because of the way you look, or spreads lies/rumors about you. I get it - it hurts. But don't let it get to you. Thats all the person who said whatever it is they said wants. Let it go, ignore the person, and move on. I know I'm not exactly the best person to be saying this, as I have had my fair share of fights, grudges, and baised, mindless hatred towards people over the years. But I'm working on limiting that and moving past it. Growing up in the environments I have, I've found its easier to just ignore what people say than it is to try and fight it.
If someone is trying to turn your friends against you with lies, and they do turn, you really have to just wonder what kinds of friends they were in the first place. If they believed the lies someone told them about you and went ahead and judged you based on what someone else said after knowing you xxxx amount of years, they must not have been the best of friends. If you know you can trust your friends, and that they will be there for you no matter what, then you really should have no reason to worry about who's telling who what. As for the friends, they shouldn't believe what someone says about someone else, anyway. And if they have doubts, they should calmly address the person with the issue and get it all clarified.
Thanks for reading. Comment away. Ask if I wasn't clear/you want more. Sorry if anyone took offense. No, this was not directed at anyone in particular. I am just responding to things I've been reading/hearing lately.
NOTE - this was copied from FB, hence the 'comment away' parts.
Thanks for reading, hope it was enjoyable.
